Frequently Asked Questions

The h-index is the largest number h such that you have h publications each cited at least h times. The i10-index is the number of publications with at least 10 citations. Citation Report calculates both for your full career and for a selected period, with and without self-citations.

For each citing paper, we check whether the author being analyzed also appears among its authors. If so, that citation is excluded from the “excluding self-citations” series and indices, so you can see your impact both with and without your own citations counted.

Google Scholar doesn't offer programmatic access to citation event timelines, and Scopus requires a paid subscription. Citation Report uses OpenAlex, a free and open research database, to build monthly and yearly citation timelines that aren't readily available elsewhere.
